Truth Heals Therapy was founded for all individuals, but especially to create a lasting impact on mental health outcomes for Black people and People of Color.
Princess holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Marital and Family Therapy. She is a mental health therapist whose clinical speciality is intergenerational trauma and parenting. She is passionate about helping her clients identify and disrupt unhealthy patterns of behavior and communication that are often passed from parent to child through unhealthy parenting practices.
In clinical practice she emphasizes the importance of learning new skills to cope with a variety of mental health issues.
My journey to reconcile, make sense of and find meaning in my childhood experiences began in my first therapeutic relationship. In it, I learned about my own personal power, how and why setting goals and boundaries is important, and that I am capable of creating the life that I wanted for myself by beginning from within.
In my first therapeutic relationship, I discovered my personal strength and the significance of setting goals and boundaries. However, a lack of cultural competence hindered a deeper emotional connection. This highlighted the need for representation in mental health, motivating me to pursue therapy as a career. I earned an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. Post-graduation, I leveraged my media and speaking skills for impactful client outreach and designed workshops for parents.
